Have you ever wondered who came up with all those Russian language rules we learned at school? The answer is simple - Ditmar Elyashevich Rosenthal.
He was born in Poland, into a Jewish family, and… began to learn Russian only in high school. But it was he who became the main reformer and guardian of Russian spelling and punctuation!
♦ It was Rosenthal who formulated the basic rules by which we still write today.
♦ Millions of schoolchildren studied using his textbooks.
♦ All modern dictionaries and reference books rely on his works.
Phenomenal literacy became his calling card.
We invite you to get to know this remarkable man better at our virtual exhibition dedicated to Ditmar Elyashevich Rosenthal.
Ditmar Elyashevich Rosenthal: "I have always been pathologically literate"
The history of Crimea is very rich in events.
Historically, the peninsula has become a crossroads of various cultures and civilizations. It was here, in Crimea, that Prince Vladimir was baptized in 988.
This marked the beginning of the formation of the “Russian world”. The event and the place where it occurred predetermined the future fate of the peninsula, as subsequent events in Russian history proved.
If you look at the entire history of Crimea, many significant events took place in the spring – the annexation of Crimea in 1783, liberation from fascism in 1944, and finally, the return of Crimea to its “home harbor” in 2014.
In nature, spring is a symbol of rebirth, hope, inspiration, and dreams. What happened in Crimea in 2014 became known as the "Crimean Spring." It became a symbol of the beginning of a new era not only in the modern history of Russia, but also for the entire world.
