"Scientific Wednesdays" from the NSU Library — a wonderful tradition continues!

The new meeting took the form of a popular-science lecture and a presentation of the book "Kant in an Era of Turning Points."

Marina Nikolaevna Wolf, Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, presented a collective monograph and discussed its key ideas as well as the distinctive features of Kantian philosophy. She devoted particular attention to an extensive exhibition prepared by the staff of the Scientific Library; the publications featured there served as a significant, substantive supplement to the discussion about Kant.

One of the co-authors, Vladimir Viktorovich Brovkin, in his presentation "Kant on Epicurus," examined Immanuel Kant’s attitude toward the philosophy of the ancient Greek thinker and explained why this attitude was ambivalent.

n his presentation "From Kant to Land and Back," co-author Oleg Alexandrovich Lunev-Korobsky traced how Kant’s ideas are refracted in the works of the English philosopher Nick Land.

As is customary, the meeting did not end with the final presentation: guests stayed on for tea to chat with the authors in an informal setting.
