"Voices of Russia": Poems in various languages were recited at the NSU Scientific Library

On September 23, the NSU Scientific Library hosted a poetry evening titled "Voices of Russia," held to mark the Day of the Languages of the Peoples of Russia and the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia. The event was organized by the NSU Scientific Library, the Department of History, Culture, and Arts of the Institute for the Humanities, and the NSU Department of Youth Policy and Educational Work.

The evening turned out to be truly democratic and open. Researchers, faculty members, and students from NSU, pupils from the NSU Specialized Educational and Scientific Center, and ordinary residents of Akademgorodok all performed on the same stage. The university was represented by participants from the Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies, the Humanities Institute, and the Faculties of Mechanics and Mathematics, Physics, Natural Sciences, and Economics. In total, the program featured more than 30 presentations.

Works by national authors were performed on stage in the Ossetian, Tuvan, Buryat, Altai, Tatar, and Russian languages. International students from Uzbekistan and China prepared group performances that introduced the audience to the cultures of their respective countries. The program featured many original poems written by the participants, as well as guitar-accompanied songs—typically touching on themes that resonate deeply with young people, such as self-discovery, memory, love, and the future.

Сотрудниками библиотеки была подготовлена книжная выставка изданий из фонда на 15 языках народов России. Здесь были представлены практически все жанры: героический эпос, народные сказки, поэзия и проза, учебная и патриотическая литература.

After the program, a tea gathering and warm conversation awaited the participants. Open-mic performances were also proposed. The "Voices of Russia" evening once again demonstrated that the NSU Library is not merely a space for study and scholarship, but also an open venue for cultural dialogue, creativity, and a genuine interest in the native language.
