Ex Oriente Lux: Ancient Greece and the East

Every meeting with Marina Nikolaevna Wolf within the walls of the Scientific Library of NSU – this is definitely a holiday. Marina Nikolaevna explains the essence of the subject in detail and clearly, so much so that you will listen! Yesterday, a lecture on the relationship between the philosophical tradition of Ancient Greece and the traditions and beliefs of the countries of the East was also warmly received by a grateful audience. Iran and Egypt, Scythia and India – how they influenced the formation of the philosophical ideas of the Hellenes… or did the Hellenes influence it? Having touched on the history of the origin of secret orders in medieval Europe, Marina Nikolaevna left the right to make a final conclusion to the listeners – students, graduates, staff of NSU and IFPR SB RAS. Traditionally, answering questions after the lecture, Marina Nikolaevna recommended reading books from a voluminous exhibition prepared by the staff of the Scientific Library.
