CREATING A CURRICULUM MATERIALS LIST

Lists of core and supplemental curriculum material are compiled in accordance with Ministry of Education requirements and standards for the provision of library and information resources.

A list includes printed and/or digital materials that must be in the NSU Library catalogue and registered in the digital catalog, the digital library, the digital library systems, and databases on the basis of agreements.

Core Material

Basic textbooks and teaching aids in both printed and digital formats (3-5 items). Material availability should be at least 0.5 (1 copy for 2 students). If the library catalog contains reprints of the same publication, then their total number is taken into account.

Supplemental Material

Scientific, official, reference and bibliographic literature, and specialized periodicals (up to 10 titles). If there are no digital publications on the materials list, then the availability should be at least 0.25 (1 copy for 4 students).

If there is a full-text publication in the DLS, this is considered 100% book provision for the subject (coefficient –1).

If a DLS textbook or study guide is indicated, then the address for this publication is listed. For example

Material availability is calculated based on the average number of students using the material and the average number of copies available in the library.

A bibliographic description of a book or a digital publication from a digital library found in the NSU digital catalog is copied to the list of recommended literature.

Periodicals

  • periodicals in the NSU Library catalog;
  • periodicals in the eLibrary that NSU has subscribed to;
  • open access periodicals in the eLibrary.

Articles from periodicals are not provided, only the journal in which the article is published.
