Periodicals in the NSU library catalog

There are four periodical sections in the NSU Library fund. Periodicals are listed in alphabetical order within each section. The storage location in the Library is indicated by the storage “sigla”. Storage “sigla” is the Russian library term for the alphanumeric location of an item that simplifies the search for a publication.  The “sigla” tells the user where to find the publication.

Some titles of periodicals are supplemented by Internet addresses for digital versions of journals and newspapers.

Current journal and newspaper Sigla storage locations for NSU Library departments and sectors are:

  • Fiction Lending Department (room 301a);
  • Reading Room (room 301a);
  • methodological office (room 106a);
  • Referentce and Information Service Department (room 113a);
  • Book Storing Department (room 102a).

All journals with the Fiction Department sigla are kept in the Fiction Lending Department.

Other journals and newspapers are in the Book Storing Department. Teachers and staff can order them through a subscription to academic and scientific literature. Other users can only get access through the Reading Room (room 301a).

Acquisitions Department is responsible for subscriptions to all periodicals for the NSU Library, as well as for their registration and distribution.

Subscriptions are made twice a year. The Library subscribes to over 100 journals and newspapers.
