A meeting on this topic was organized on January 31 this year at the “Boiling Point – Novosibirsk” Ministry of Science and Innovation Policy of the Novosibirsk Region.
Representatives of universities, scientific libraries, museums, organizations involved in the popularization of science, as well as federal experts from the Russian Science Foundation, ANO “National priorities”, portal “Nauka.rf” and others agreed that it is important not only to research, study, develop, but also to correctly broadcast the results of scientific activity to a wide range of the public.
The meeting participants discussed what factors influence the relationship between science and society, how to popularize science in order to achieve fundamental advances in the perception of reality at the level of mass consciousness.
Deputy Director of the Scientific Library of NSU T. G. Markova spoke at the section “Library as a Center for Scientific Communication” with a message “At the intersection of education and science”,in which she emphasized the close personnel relationship between Novosibirsk State University and research institutions of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“Contributing to the Open Science Initiative, we create and promote a full-text electronic library, containing collections of works by teachers, educational and educational literature, materials from conferences organized by the university, as well as rare books and periodicals of the 18th-20th centuries. The vast majority of documents are available to a wide range of users”, — noted the head of the library.
The upcoming transformation of the library into a communication space in the new building will create new opportunities for it to exchange scientific knowledge both within the academic community and beyond.
